We as human beings need to get ample amounts of sleep, typically 7-8 hours per night for adults, to function correctly. The correlation between the time we spend sleeping restfully and our body’s overall functioning is significant!
Several studies support this claim, which is why we should be paying close attention to our sleep quality and what it indicates about our need for a new mattress.
To achieve a high level of sleep satisfaction, we simply want a quality bed that provides an adequate level of comfort, while being reliable and durable enough to last us for a large portion of our lives.
When we have had the opportunity to solidify this type of relationship with our bed, we feel extremely well-rested and at peace. There is nothing that quite compares to that euphoric, well-rested feeling!
However, when we consider the contrary, consistent bouts of less than restful sleep can leave even the better well-rested individual seeking out a new mattress that will meet their needs. Obviously, this experience will take time away from their already busy schedules, which will likely result in additional frustration until their dream mattress is found.

So, when is it really a good time to replace your mattress with a new one? While we often get carried away by consumerism and tend to buy new things all the time, mattress is certainly one item we should not be reluctant to change if its time has come.

Sign One: You Believe Your Mattress Will Never “Get Better”
If you recently purchased a new mattress, you were probably extremely eager to clear a space in your bedroom to make room for it. Then, once it arrived, you likely jumped right in to truly explore its features, curves, and dedication towards ensuring you would be receiving great nights’ sleep.

While the age range mentioned above is a good starting point to begin analyzing your mattress, it is far from an industry standard. This age range is just the typical timeframe it takes for age-related issues such as tears, or sagging springs to appear.
Sign Seven: You are Seeking Use of Other Mattresses
If, over the past several months you find yourself searching nearby hotel rooms just so you can get a good night’s sleep, you are on the verge of replacing your mattress and really need to analyze when you will make the choice to do so!
Sure, getting a good night’s rest on a hotel bed is great, but trying out a mattress inside a retail store may be a better option to ensure you will get much longer bouts of sleep in the future.
The great thing about taking the latter approach is that you can test out multiple beds in one setting, helping you make a better determination as to which one is right for your needs.

After a lengthy deliberation process, you have finally determined that it is time to replace your mattress. While you may still have some hesitancy replacing your mattress, remember it is for the best and it will ultimately result in you feeling well-rested for your daily life.
