Insomnia and Sleep Problems during the Menopause

Lack of sleep can really be a problem during the menopause, because this is precisely when you need its healing and uplifting powers the most.

Some of the many remedies that can be of help in helping you sleep, include Valerian, Melatonin and Passiflora.
Try the different options and see what suits you best.
Valerian is the most popular one and works very well on most and is often found in tablets which can also include, hops and wild lettuce.

Often disruptions in sleep during the menopause are caused by night sweats. Night Sweats are a type of hot flash mainly associated with women experiencing menopause, but they can occur for men and women afflicted with other disorders too. Some medication can contribute to night sweats as well.

Prescription sedatives might seem like the easy option, but these can cause serious side effects with long term use and are also addictive.
Of course if really necessary and your doctor advises you to do this, short term use can reset your sleep patterns, although do try the alternative remedies first.

You have enough to deal with during the menopause and lack of sleep should not be one of them!
